Alcohol Sedimentation

Exclusively designed for the alcohol precipitation and purification procedures of TCM oral liquids, senbofluid mixtures, unguents, and various food and health preparations, it removes ineffective or harmful impurities such as polysaccharides, proteins and tannins from materials via the alcohol precipitation method to achieve separation and purification of active ingredients. As a key equipment for improving the purity, stability and quality of finished products, its overall design and manufacturing strictly comply with the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) for pharmaceutical production, meeting the hygiene and production standards of the pharmaceutical and food industries.
Main Material
The entire tank body is made of 304/316L food-grade stainless steel, featuring corrosion resistance, easy cleaning and no material residue, which meets the hygiene requirements of the pharmaceutical and food industries. The 316L material is more suitable for the alcohol precipitation treatment of highly corrosive materials.
Core Structure
The tank body adopts a vertical pressure-bearing structure, and the tank opening is designed with a quick-opening type for easy internal maintenance and cleaning. The jacket is a fully wrapped structure, seamlessly welded with the tank body to ensure uniform temperature control.
Sealing and Transmission
The transmission part adopts the mechanical seal process with excellent sealing performance, which effectively prevents ethanol volatilization and material leakage. The stirring shaft is precisely connected with the motor, running stably without noise, avoiding impurity contamination of materials caused by mechanical friction.

Mixing and Alcohol Precipitation: The tank is equipped with customized stirring paddles (anchor type, frame type or paddle type), which can realize uniform and low-speed mixing of ethanol and materials to fully agglomerate and precipitate impurities. The stirring speed can be adjusted according to material characteristics to avoid damage to active ingredients caused by high-speed stirring.
Temperature Control and Regulation: The jacket can be filled with low-temperature cooling water (or hot water as required) to accurately control the temperature of materials in the tank, effectively inhibiting ethanol volatilization and preventing the loss of active ingredients of materials due to temperature changes, thus ensuring the stability of alcohol precipitation effect.
Solid-Liquid Separation: A conical discharge port is set at the bottom of the tank, equipped with a filtration device (filter screen/filter element). After precipitation, the supernatant can be quickly exported and the precipitated impurities can be collected separately, simplifying the subsequent separation process.

Explosion-Proof Protection: Standard equipped with an explosion-proof motor, adapted to the safe production scenarios of flammable and explosive ethanol, effectively preventing safety accidents caused by electrical sparks and ensuring workshop production safety.
Automatic Cleaning: Integrated with a high-pressure water automatic spray cleaning system, the spray nozzles cover the inner wall of the tank in all directions, realizing dead-angle-free automatic cleaning, replacing manual cleaning, improving cleaning efficiency, avoiding sanitary dead angles in manual operation, and meeting the GMP cleaning verification requirements.
Exhaust and Decompression: An explosion-proof exhaust port is set on the top of the tank, equipped with a breather valve and a flame arrester, which can timely discharge the gas from ethanol volatilization in the tank, balance the pressure inside the tank, and prevent potential safety hazards caused by excessive pressure in the tank.
Auxiliary Interfaces: Reserved with liquid level gauge interface, temperature sensor interface, sampling port, etc., which can real-timely monitor the liquid level and temperature of materials in the tank, facilitate sampling and detection in the process, and timely control the progress of alcohol precipitation.
The working process of the alcohol precipitation tank is based on the core logic of the alcohol precipitation method, and is carried out in a closed and temperature-controlled environment throughout the process:
The to-be-processed TCM extract and food/health product concentrate are transported into the tank through the feed port, and a quantitative amount of ethanol is accurately added according to the process requirements;
Start the stirring system, stir at a low speed to fully mix ethanol with materials, and at the same time, feed low-temperature cooling water through the jacket to control the temperature in the tank within the process required range, inhibit ethanol volatilization and promote impurity agglomeration;
Stop the operation after stirring, and stand for precipitation for a certain time to make impurities such as polysaccharides and proteins fully settle to the bottom of the tank;
After precipitation, first export the purified supernatant through the supernatant outlet at the upper part of the tank body, and then discharge the precipitated impurities through the conical discharge port at the bottom of the tank to complete alcohol precipitation and purification;
After the process, start the high-pressure water automatic spray cleaning system to clean the inner wall of the tank in all directions, and the cleaning wastewater is discharged through the sewage outlet to prepare for the next use.
